Search Engine Ranking Optimization Articles

How to use keywords and phrases to maximize your search engine ranking Part 2

At this stage, you have decided what phrases you are going to use though a service such as Wordtracker or other means.

Now we have to decide where to put them.

The method we use is target one or two phrases per page. We start with the Meta Title and Meta Description of a page.
Take this page for example

The title is <title>Keywords and keyword phrases - Search engine ranking optimization</title>

The description is <META NAME="description" CONTENT="How to use keywords and keyword phrases to maximize your search engine ranking"</title>

Without being too bright I am sure you have realised we are targeting "keywords" and "keyword phrases".

The next part is to create a title containing the phrases. We also want to tell the search engine it is important so we wrap it in <h1> tags.

Next, we sprinkle the phrases through the text. Many people talk about keyword density and how many percent you need. We prefer to try and write an article naturally about a subject and the keyword density should be correct.

Now create some links to the page containing your keywords.

Finally, in the alt tag of an image place your phrases and viola a perfectly optimized page.

The secret is to not try to hard. If your article is about your subject it should naturally be optimized. If you try and stuff your keywords in too much you will probably be penalised.
